domain name expired cannot recover my work

    Hey all,

Without being notified by my website host that my domain name was expiring, I tried to open my blog. I learned my domain name is now up for sale. Unfortunately, all contact information I had for my website host is no longer available to me.

I cannot access the six years of work on my blog from http://jeansblogs.com. Is there a way to recover the sites information through WordPress?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I’m adding the ModLook tag to your thread so that a staff member can more easily see it and help you out.

Unfortunately, all WordPress staff are currently at a company-wide meetup – it sounds like they’re still checking the forums, but the response time might be a bit slower than usual.

For more info in the meantime, please see here.

    Hi Debra,

I’ve looked into the domain, jeansblogs.com. While this domain was connected to WordPress.com through our Jetpack product it was never registered by WordPress.com. Your site is a self-hosted WordPress site.

I’m sorry to hear that your previous registrar did not notify you the domain was expiring.

Once a domain expires it goes through a process of around 80 days where it can be redeemed or sold by auction. Unfortunately, it appears the domain jeansblogs.com was bought by another party. You may be able to buy the domain back from the party but we cannot guarantee this. You’ll find the current owner at:
    https://whois.icann.org/en/lookup?name=jeansblogs.com

If you are unable to get the domain back from the current owner you may need to buy a new domain.

To avoid further confusion I have removed this site from your account.
