Domain name expired, can't access dashboard

    Hello !

    This is a very complicated question for me, as I don’t really understand what I’m asking for…

    I had a standard wordpress blog back in 2012, and in July 2014, a friend of mine “bought me a present” and set up a new site with my own domain name and hosting platform. I believe it became a wordpress.org kind-of-thing, and I had the jetpack extension. But I never had access to the hosting or domain name pages, login or anything. I could only login on my dashboard and edit my site through wordpress.org.
    Now, after a misunderstanding and the end of our friendship, he cancelled everything last week and of course didn’t give me any notice or the chance to move to another account.
    I would be able to transfer everything on another platform if I had access to the dashboard but I don’t… And I really have NO IDEA how I can get everything back and running.
    I may have an old back-up of my content somewhere but I don’t know if that will work if I create a new website and update it…

    You may try to contact them to try to get back your domain name.

    I did. The domain belongs to my friend until July 2019 … He has to release it if I want it back :(

    If you don’t want to wait, then you’ll have to choose another domain name or just another extension and start a new website.
    And maybe next year you will be able to recover and buy tetsworld.com
