Domain name for business

  Do I have to decide right away if I want to transfer my domain or map it? I would like to start designing and give my board the option to go with our current site or one from wordpress that I design before we go live.

  Hi familyadvocatesinc,

  There’s no need to decide straight away. You can start by creating a free site on WordPress.com, adding content and choosing a theme etc.

  The domain can be mapped or transferred to WordPress.com once you have made a decision at a later date.

  Mapping is useful if you want to keep the domain registered with your current provider. Transferring the domain to WordPress.com is helpful if you would prefer to manage the site and domain through one account (on WordPress.com).
