Domain name – going to wordpress.com
-
Hi
Someone has pointed out to me that when they go to my domain name http://www.connectperformanceconsulting.co.uk it is going to wordpress.com. It works fine for me if I type it in but when I clicked on the link myself (that I’d sent to them), it did indeed go to wordpress.com. Any idea what I need to do to resolve this?
Thanks

I have the same problem. Please help me out. My blog http://reportsgalore.wordpress.com is being redirected to http://wordpress.com everytime I tried to access the site admin. Thanks in advance.

Worked fine for me as well.
Not sure if teh first one is allowed under the ToS though.
Just for reference, theliams. Spamming the forums is not a good thing. You only need to post once.

Hi
Bizarrely I’ve discovered that the link is fine apart from this one place the person tried it, where I had put it in a post on a networking forum. Suppose must be some sort of glitch with that forum’s IT??
Thanks

I don’t think i can as it is password protected so not sure you’ll be able to get to it (although tell me if I’m wrong as I’m no tecchie!). Also, your comment about ToS and not being allowed, was that referring to my site – I wasn’t sure? I looked through the Terms of Service and can’t see anything that would indicate a problem but thought I’d just ask as I’m only getting started and don’t want to fall foul of anyone!

I can’t see behind a password I’m afraid. The moderators are all volenteers and we don’t have back end access.
My understanding is that you can’t use the wp.com blogs as the main commerical site for a company. Best bet would be to do a feedback to staff and ask that for a ruling. At the very most, it would just mean finding a host for your site and install wordpress there and moving your domain name.

No worries on the forum issue. And thanks, I will ask. I couldn’t see anything about commercial sites when I signed up but a few people have mentioned about hosting anyway so I’m sure I can sort it all out.
