Why can’t I take a domain name that another user has had though she/he has deleted her/his blog with that name?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

ok. But wouldn’t it be better if you could take a domain name that has been deleted. What kind of problem would that cause if you could do that?
I think that a domain name that has been deleted should be inactive for a time and then eventually be free to use again. -
One very good reason:
Say I make a blog and you link to it. After a while I delete it. Your blog still links to it, but the link is now broken. That is unfortunate for your visitors following your link to me, but so be it. After another while my deleted blog name is freed and someone comes along, takes it and sets up a porn site or something else that you would never link to. Are you going to check all your links on all your posts from many years back? I would not want that to happen to anything I link to. -
