Domain name in redemption

  Hi,

  I have cancelled my WordPress account as I want to use a more simple CMS. I tried to purchase a new domain name with the new CMS but it says the domain name is taken.
  I then came back to WordPress to find the message below.

  ”my url’.com is not eligible to register or transfer since it is in redemption. If you own this domain, please contact your current registrar to redeem the domain.’

  WP.com: Yes
  Correct account: Yes

  Hi there,

  Since you wanted to use that same domain on a different host, you should’ve transferred it instead of canceling it.

  The domain has already been removed from our system and is currently in redemption with our registrar. It is still possible for me to recover the domain at this point, but our registrar charges an $80 fee to restore a domain from redemption.

  Let me know if you agree to that fee, and I can get the recovery process started.
