domain name includes ‘wordpress’?

  Hello!
  I am transferring our domain name to wordpress to make things easier when it comes to paying for the domain. However, I am noticing our website domain now includes ‘wordpress.com’. I did not want to add anything to our original domain, we have been in business for 10 years and do not want our information changed. Can I avoid adding to it and just keeping the original link?

  With a plan upgrade, you can connect an existing domain to WordPress.com. A plan upgrade is also required to set a custom primary domain.

  It’s worth noting that a new annual plan purchase includes a one-year free domain registration. You can use this to transfer your domain to WordPress.com, extending its expiry by a year.
