domain name is wrong

  Why is does my domain name use my email address and start with http? I was using webs.com and they used my company name and it started with www. And it was the free service, not paid. For example freejobconsult on webs would be http://www.freejobconsult.webs.com. I thought wordpress would be http://www.freejobsconsult.wordpress.com.

  WordPress.com always redirects the www subdomain to the non-www version. Because of this, you can still use www version of your custom domain on your signature or business cards if you’d like.

  kardotim, I don’t think that is the issue. I think he wanted to register a blog http://www.freejobsconsult.wordpress.com but got one with his email address jsantamaria17.wordpress.com instead.

  All you need to do is go to Dashboard->My blogs and press the “register another blog” button and then enter freejobsconsult (which is still free). Do it quickly as someone reading this thread could like the name and get if first!

  I see. Sorry for the confusion. Once logged in you can go to http://en.wordpress.com/signup/?new=freejobsconsult&ref=typo to register the ‘freejobsconsult ‘ blog address directly.
