  Hello. I just recently bought a domain name for my blog, but I can’t change the domain to drop the wordpress.com part of the URL.

  Of what site are you speaking? The account you’re using to post here only owns the free site, http://chasinstanley.wordpress.com, and has never bought any domain upgrades from us.

  If you mean you bought a domain somewhere else that you want to add to that site, you can do that using the domain mapping upgrade included in all our paid plans:
