Domain Name Issues

    I have been trying to remove the wordpress.com from the end of my url, and to make sure, I typed in http://www.shoecloset.com and all that came up was one of those basic pages with similar search names. This lead me to believe that shoecloset.com was available, but when I tried to use it as my domain name, it said this: We were unable to verify that shoecloset.com is pointing to WordPress.com. If you own this domain, follow the directions below to get it ready for your blog. If you don’t own it, try a different name to see if something else is available. If the domain is available, you may be able to register it with another registrar and then map it to your blog. Does someone own the domain name, or is there some particular place where I have to go to get it?

    Any help at all would be really great.

    That domain name is already owned; that’s not a real search site, it’s ads. And you cannot apply domain names to WP.com blogs without purchasing the Domain Upgrade.
