Domain Name Issues
-
Hi,
I’ve recently purchased a new domain name and mapping for my blog “http://thevirtualtruckstop.wordpress.com”. The domain I purchased was the same, apart from the .wordpress part. It’s not showing. When I try to access the .com version I get: “Warning! Domain mapping upgrade for this domain not found. Please login and go to the Domains Upgrades page of your blog to use this domain. “.
I have contacted support already, but am curious as to whether it’s just me who receives this message. So, does this appear for you too?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Did you do this?
3. After you have made your purchase, go back to the Settings -> Domains page, select the radio button next to the domain you just mapped to your blog, and click the Update Primary Domain button.
At the bottom of this support page: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-existing-domain/ .

That’s the problem. That radio button isn’t appearing. There’s a blank space where it should be.
-
How long has it been since you bought the domain name through wordpress.COM?
A whois on the domain name says it was 10/30. It can take 24 hours and sometimes longer before the domain name registration and DNS nameserver changes work their way through the internet nameservers. I would wait for 24 hours and keep checking back for the button. You might have to clear your browser a few times as well to make sure your browser isn’t bringing up a cached page.

All right, well thanks for the info. You’re very quick and efficient. Methinks you should be working for WordPress.com. And to answer your question, it was about two hours ago.
Thanks

Hi again,
Just thought I’d let you know that everything is fine now. It was a problem on their end. Thanks again for the help.

I have the same problem. Bought the domain name http://www.taskwun.net yesterday through wordpress, and there is no radio button next to that URL to check. I will wait to see what happens. Hopefully fix itself. “thesacredpath” you seem to know your stuff.

This is just to let you both know that it can take up to 72 hours for the domain changes to populate throughout the internet.

@taskwun1, contact staff if you do not have the radio button at http://en.support.wordpress.COM/contact/ .

Thanks so much. I will wait to see what happens then contact support. Much appreciated help from @thesacredpath.
