Domain Name issues

  Awhile back, I registered the domain ‘illuminatingthefog.wordpress.com’. I then deleted the site and all content (I was unsure about the domain name and the site didn’t have any content). Now, I’m trying to re-register the domain name, but it won’t let me, saying the domain already exists, yet if you go to that URL, it says the site is no longer available. Is there a way I can re-register that domain name?
