Domain Name Mapping

Hi, hope you can advise me.

I have just transferred my wordpress.com blog to bluehost but I think I have misunderstood the process of domain mapping.

I exported the blog to the new domain and made sure all the URLs were matching beyond the dot.com/ string. Did the domain mapping a few hours ago and all pages and posts seem to be redirecting to the new blog. Traffic is showing fine.

I just went into the dashboard of the original wordpress.com blog for a peak and I noticed that all the URLs have been re-written for the new blog. I did not expect that to happen from the guidance notes I read. I thought it just mapped the blog and applied redirects.

I have a feeling I am supposed to be exporting the blog at this stage but I already did it. I wanted to get the new site running first in case there were any problems with importing the theme and I am glad I did because I had huge problems with that.

Something seems wrong about this, my question is what should I do with the original blog, do I leave it, can I modifiy it at some stage or do I turn it off somehow? Can anyone advise me what to do next.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The blog you specified at http://www.tenerife-sexo.com does not appear to be hosted at WordPress.com.

This support forum is for blogs hosted at WordPress.com. If your question is about a self-hosted WordPress blog then you’ll find help at the WordPress.org forums.

If you don’t understand the difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org, you may find this information helpful.

The blog is hosted at wordpress.com. Youa have picked up the new domain.

Sorry I should have given you the original domain which is http://www.tenerifesex.wordpress.com

I do understand the difference between wp.com and wo.org and this is a wp.com issue.

OK. I have noticed this morning that the wp.com blog is not getting any traffic, it is all going to the new blog so I think it is sorted out.

Question now is, will googlebot be visiting and what I need to do to stop that, if anything?
