Domain Name Mapping

  Hi,
  I had a domain name and website on bluehost, which enabled me to set up a website on wordpress.org. I now however want to switch back to wordpress.com completely.
  I cancelled the bluehost account, freed up the domain name which is now set to expire on July 15, 2015. However, the domain name is freed up by bluehost for use by another company. When I am trying to find the domain name on wordpress, it says it is already taken. How do I get around that?
  I want to set up that domain name on wordpress.com (mszknowitall.com)

  Hi there,

  It doesn’t look like BlueHost freed your domain up to register it like new, instead they pointed it towards us so that you can use the domain in our systems. You can check this for yourself by doing a Whois look up like so:

  http://who.is/whois/mszknowitall.com

  The good news is that all you need to do is purchase domain mapping by going to your Dashboard >> Store >> My Domains and clicking the button labelled “Map a domain you own” and typing in your domain name. Your site should come up once you purchase that upgrade!
