  How do I add my domain name to a my WordPress site? I’m only getting paid plan options, but I would like to start with a free site.

  If you want a free site you’ll have to settle for a .wordpress.com or .home.blog or similar subdomain. To add a custom domain to a WordPress.com site requires a paid plan.
