Domain name mapping issues

  Hi,

  I am in the process of mapping the domain name I have recently purchased to the wordpress servers.

  I have contacted my registrar and they have updated the DNS to the once indicated.

  I am still having issues mapping my domain though.

  I would really appreciate your help.

  Hi there. Can you please explain what are the issues you’re having with mapping the domain?

  And what is the domain you are trying to map?

  I get this message: “Sorry but xeniosstephanou.com.cy has not been registered yet therefore cannot be mapped.”

  I have noticed is a common issue with unusual domains like mine which is .com.cy.

  Is there an easy fix around this?

  Hi, I tried doing a WHOIS lookup and it says xeniosstephanou.com.cy is indeed not registered:
  http://www.nic.cy/nslookup/dns_get_record.php?search=xeniosstephanou&what=com&submit=Search

  Please check for typos, point the domain to our name servers, then let us know if you still have trouble:

  ns1.wordpress.com
  ns2.wordpress.com
  ns3.wordpress.com

  Let me check with the registrar, because yesterday morning the result of that whois was different.

  Hi. I have found the issue. Apparently there was an issue with my registrar’s servers, that’s why the whois was showing as not registered.

  I have included the results below:

  I was able to add domain mapping for you. You’ll need to renew it here:
  https://wordpress.com/my-upgrades

  Then you can make it your primary domain at https://wordpress.com/my-domains .

  I’m not sure… sometimes we’ll see this with certain domain extensions if they aren’t pointed here. I’m glad we were able to work around it though!

  Hi guys,
  I’m having the same problem here…trying to map a .ro domain name, namely: beautydea.ro. I get the same error, though my registrar said it is not from their settings. I changes the NS to the wordpress ones, but still get the same results.

  Can you please help?
