Domain name no longer mapped
-
Hi
I am also having domain issues. The site was working yesterday, but today it says the domain is no longer registered with WordPress. It says the following:
Although edenvalephotoclub.co.za has been registered, it is not using WordPress.com nameservers. What has changed? The URL is valid until May 23 2017.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

yes, mine too. Interestingly my site was accessible right up until the wordpress staff disappeared for 10 days. Not impressed.

What? How can a whole company’s staff disappear for 10 days. That’s just crazy? Business sites that are impacted can’t be down for 2 weeks!!
-
Come on WordPress. My website is down and you are the only people who can fix it. Your help page says to contact the registrar, You are the registrar and cannot be contacted.
I need urgent support … -
Hi folks, Staff are aware of this issue and are looking into it. This thread has been tagged for their attention. If you’ve already posted, no need to open a new thread or post into an existing thread on this same topic. Thanks for your patience.

I seem to have found the problem. I renewed with WordPress on 23 May, but doing a WhoIs says the domain expired on 20 September 2016 and will be deleted on 20 September 2016, so this is URGENT …

Please notify me when WordPress have renewed the domain that I have already paid for which should have been done in May.

Same here, site down for about 5 days. Not sure how or why my nameservers have been remapped to wordpress.com.
-
@davewol – What domain name? For edenvalephotoclub.co.za, that is not registered via WordPress.com (we do not register co.za domains ourselves, but can map co.za domains purchased elsewhere).
I’m showing an active mapping subscription for that domain, renewed in May, which is still on the site.
-
WordPress “owns” that domain. I paid you in May to renew the domain which is what we have done since 2007.

That’s not the problem for me: My domain doesn’t expire until 2/2017:

I have recently taken over the maintenance of this blog, so this is new for me.
It seems I now understand the process. It appears that I need to pay WordPress $13 to have an alternate primary domain, BUT, I also need to pay the registrar to keep the domain active.
Please correct me if my understanding is incorrect. -
I am facing a similar issue regarding my domain (threebabesbakeshop.com) that I purchased through wordpress.com and have paid to map to my hosting service (media temple).
As of 3 days ago, the domain mapping has been removed and I can no longer update the DNS records for our domain. More so, there is no listing for threebabesbakeshop.com under my domains. For some reason, the nameservers for threebabesbakeshop.com now point to wordpress.com nameservers (even though I did not initiate any changes).
So, the domain mapping has been removed, the entry for our domain in our wordpress.com dashboard is not there, and our DNS entries were updated mysteriously. Since I cannot access the domain in the dashboard, I am left unable to update anything. I do see the receipt in the billing history for the domain mapping I purchased.
Our domain is not set to expire until March 31, 2017. I have contacted our registrar and our hosting company and neither has been able to help us get this corrected.
Thank you.

I’m experiencing the same problem. I have been able to regain control of my domain, but there is no option available to change the name servers – WHICH I NEED ASAP.
Right now, my site is showing a homepage from 2011 – the date right before I upgraded to a custom URL. This is unacceptable – I need a fix!
