networksolutions.com/domain-name-registration/domain-name-search-results.jsp?isExplicitSearchAvailable=false
britcapitalist.com was registered today, at Automattic (WordPress) and I’m assuming that was you. It was registered with the privacy option so I can’t see any name in the registration details.

britcapitalist.wordpress.com is NOT a paid domain name. It is the free subdomain name you got when you set up your site.

Actually that first link I don’t think will return the results now that I look at the URL. You can search for that domain name with the “1” on that site though to see that it has not been registered.

If I cancel britcapitalist.com there’s a strong chance you won’t be able to re-register it later.
Would you like me to just move the mapping to one of your other WordPress.com blogs instead? If so, which one?

I do not want you to cancel britcapitalist.com. I just want to understand why the #1 was inserted to read britcapitalistdotcom1.Doesn’t it normally indicate that britcapitalistdotcom was already taken? If there is a misunderstanding on my part it is because WordPress is new to me and I apologize for that but please clarify this issue for me.

Since you are mapping the domain it does not really matter much as most all your visitors will see is the custom domain name you purchased and mapped –
if you are offended by that – ask staff-blorbo politely to transfer the mapping to the blog linked to your name –
Sometimes for some reason the base blog name gets a “dotcom” added – don’t know if it is a problem with the software or how the name if fed it –
