Domain name not working

  I signed up under the name of slbellis and then upgraded my account, paying to register the domain name: anglesalacarta.com.

  Then I used hostgator for hosting, and got another email from wordpress with another user name and password: User: Sarah. Password: WKmbKEWDiPFpi0p6

  When I use this link it is not recognised. I think because I already have an account (slbellis). The problem is when I go to anglesalacarta.com it says “nothing found”, or still comes up as anglesalacarta.wordpress.com, although I paid to remove the wordpress.com part. I am trying to set up a webpage for my business but can’t get started. Please help.

  Howdy Sarah,

  It sounds like you’re trying to point your domain name, anglesalacarta.com, to a new self-hosted WordPress site (hosted by Hostgator). Currently your domain is still pointing to your WordPress.com account, which is why you can’t access your new self-hosted WordPress site with the “Sarah” username/password yet.

  You can map your domain name to your new host following the instructions here:
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/change-name-servers/#changing-domain-name-servers

  Once you do that, and after the DNS changes have taken effect (within 72 hours) you should be able to log into your new self-hosted site using the username/password that was sent to you by your installation at Hostgator.
