Domain Name of 10 years taken by another
-
My domain name hosted by wordpress of 10 years was taken by another. Due to COVID health issues the domain lapsed and went unnoticed. Can WordPress help me get it back? The current users landing page is damaging to my business and using my own surname as an imposter – although its spelled incorrectly.

What is the domain in question? Note that if you let the domain expire long enough for it to be released and to be purchased by others then there is not much you can do, unless the purchaser was a domain reseller that hopes to profit by selling it back to you.

The domain thomsonvineyards.com expired on March 24. We sent several email warnings both before and shortly after it expired.
It has since been purchased by someone else, and it is no longer under our control.
Your only option at this point would be to contact them via the info in their public record to ask if they’d consider selling the domain back to you: https://whois.whoisxmlapi.com/lookup-report/Vekwwe1qkp
Meanwhile, the site you had the domain attached to is still available at https://thomsonvineyards.wordpress.com/

It clearly is a “domain purchaser” who is attempting to resell it to me at a profit. Their name isn’t even spelled the same as mine or the domain name!
Surname THOMSON. SPAM posted by new owner about a different winery in the area under name TRAVIS THOMPSON. We are an independent grower of winegrapes only, not a winery, for 80 years at the same address, same location and same SURNAME/Business name, for 80 years.
Thomson Vineyards has been a loyal customer to wordpress for 10 years. I find it unfortunate administratively you are unwilling to help macmanx.

This is not something we can help with.
When the domain expired on March 24, it left our hands and re-entered the public market 90 days later.
Someone else then legally purchased the domain, and now they legally own it.
