Domain Name on Wrong Site
-
Hi, I am relatively new to WordPress, and I didn’t really understand that I have multiple free sites through WP. I registered the domain name that I want to use under one of the free ‘wordpress’ sites, but I didn’t realize that I registered the domain name under a particular wordpress site that I do not prefer. Is there some way of getting rid of these extra, free ‘wordpress’ names and only having the .com name that I picked linked up with the one, wordpress domain that I prefer? I don’t want to upgrade my package unless this can be resolved.

Hi,
Go here and click “Transfer upgrade” to move the mapping to another site: https://wordpress.com/my-upgradesAs to the extra sites, you can set them to private so they are no longer visible to anyone. Go to Settings > General and tick the box next to “I would like my site to be private, visible only to myself and users I choose”. Then click “Save Changes” at the bottom. If you’d rather delete your extra blogs, go to Settings > General and click “Delete Site”. Note that this action is permanent. You won’t be able to use the domain again. More info: https://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/
