Domain Name Ownership change and registration

Hi, At the moment I help to run a small patient advocacy group and we are going to be splitting away from the hospital that our group was tied to, my questions are as follows.
1. Could we take control of the domain name from the existing owner, who is prepared to give it up?
2. Can we transfer the domain to our group ownership or an individual in the group?
3. If we can take control, would our existing content remain in place?
4. What costs would be involved in the above?
5. How long would the whole process take? -
Hi there, first thing we’d need to know in order to answer the rest of your questions is the exact domain name involved. Once we know that we can move forward.

Hi, JustJennifer, thank you for your prompt reply, however at this time I’m not able to give those details out in a public forum, due to an ongoing agreement with our existing Domain holders. I think probably best if you could close this topic and I will search the help pages and come back if I can’t find answers to the questions.

If it is not hosted here with us, they would want to contact their registrar to confirm the correct process.
