The robot in the contact form wrote:
“You can contact support for help redeeming the domain, and they will send you a link to make the required payment so they can recover the domain.”However, 5 days later, I still haven’t heard from them. Meanwhile, I risk losing articles reflecting 20 years of my lifework!!!
They may have responded to my old email, to which I don’t have access anymore. Suspecting that may happen, I included in the Contact From my current email but their AI may have not yet learned to read.
WordPress, R U listening?Fellow WordPress users, do you have any advice how to get a response besides trying to email the CEO and go public with my sad story?

When I try to update my email address in the account settings, I get a “That e-mail address is already being used” message. I don’t know whet to do next.

I just noticed that my site is live at the https://blogofcollectiveintelligence.wordpress.com/ that I never asked for. I don’t understand how I can have the same site featured under two different domain names.
I want to get back my original domain name and will be happy to pay the fee that you are asking. What’s next? -
If the https://wordpress.com/me/account page doesn’t let me update my old email address, to which I lost access, with the current one, for whatever reason, can’t you accept another form of verification that I am the legitimate owner of my domain name? For example, the bank statement showing the data about the last payment I made for it?

Ok, so to check, what is the email address you’re trying to change this account to? This can only be seen by staff in the forums.
Also, to double check – you can’t access the email inbox of the email address used for this account?
The reason why I ask is because we may have to change tact and use a different approach!

Many thanks for that information.
Ok, in this case, you need to recover the account, before you can change the email address to the account.
You would need to locate a transaction ID of a charge made on the account, and this would be present on the statement of the card charged.
This helpful guide provides information on how to locate that: https://en.support.wordpress.com/billing-history/#retrieving-a-transaction-id
This can be used with this account recovery form here: https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery
From there, we’d able to take positive action.
I know this probably sounds like a step backward, but this is actually a step forward with being able to work toward a resolve.

I got my tranasaction ID and entered it in the form, and I put in the blog in question” field “blogofcollectiveintelligece.com” (without the quite marks. However, when I clicked on “submit”, I got this response:

To clarify, because you are dealing with two accounts (your @coevolvingwithyou account, and the other one that uses your gmail address) it is possible that you are mixing things up a bit when entering info in the form, and adding info from two different accounts. It’s hard to see since I cannot see you filling out the form, but based on the info you provided it sounds like this is possibility.
Since you have access to your gmail address, what I would like to do is enter it here in this form, which will send you a login link for your other account. https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword
This will allow you to access your
technoshaman1account, so you can change the email address. This will “free up” the gmail address so you can set it here on your @coevolvingwithyou account. Once you have done that, let us know and we can confirm that @coevolvingwithyou is using the correct address, and from there we can send an invoice for you to pay to recover your domain.Hope that helps. I’ve successfully accomplished that step.

When I click on @coevolwingwithyou, for some reason, it doesn’t take me to my coevolvingwithyou account page but to the technoshaman1 account page, so, presently, I can’t change the email address associated with the coevolvingwithyou account. See below.

That is because you are logged in as @technoshaman1 as shown in the header in your screenshot:

To change the email address on your
coevolwingwithyouaccount you must be logged in to it. Then you can change your email address at this URL: https://wordpress.com/me/account.I see you are using Chrome as your browser. You may want to log in to your other account using a different browser (I like to recommend Firefox) so that you can keep the two sessions completely separate. Your Chrome browser may be trying to auto-log you in as @technoshaman1 for example, so it may be fighting you here.
Here’s the steps I recommend:- Launch Firefox
- Go to https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword and request a login link for
coevolwingwithyou - Go to your inbox and find the login link. Copy the login link URL from the email (instead of clicking it)
- In Firefox again, open a new tab and paste in the special login URL you got from your email
- You should now be logged in as
coevolwingwithyouin Firefox, and can go to https://wordpress.com/me/account. to update your email
