Domain name pointer doesn't work
-
Hi staff,
On September 15th I added the domain name http://www.pierreboulez.nl to my website pierrebouleznl2015.wordpress.com. It has never worked. The *.nl name gives an error, the website can only be reached at pierrebouleznl2015.wordpress.com.
I have 2 questions:
1. Can you please unlink the *.nl? I want to host it elsewhere.
2. Since it has never worked, can you please refund the costs?I discovered that I don’t need to make those extra costs, because some hosts can link the domain to the site for free. You pay for the domain name only then. But now, via WordPress.com, I have to pay twice as much.
I hope to hear from you soon.
I’m trying to get this done for a month now – with several people trying to help me and with several promises of WP to call me.
So it’s time to finally solve this simple problem!

Hi there,
The reason it hasn’t worked is that you did not update the nameservers to us:
- NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
- NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
- NS3.WORDPRESS.COM
This support guide will give you more information on this:
We don’t have access to your nameservers because the domain is not registered through us. This is only something you can do with your registrar. I did a search into the domain and found that the registrar is: XS4ALL Internet B.V. You can see this here:
https://www.sidn.nl/nc/en/about-nl/whois/
If you are owner of that domain, please contact your registrar and have them change the nameservers to the ones I provided you above.
However, if you still do not want to host with us, I’d be happy to provide you a full refund and remove the upgrade from your account.
Also please note:
I’m trying to get this done for a month now – with several people trying to help me and with several promises of WP to call me.
We actually don’t provide phone support, so I’m not sure who promised to call you. I looked into your history and this is the first message we received from you regarding this upgrade.
However, we do provide email and forum support to users like yourself!
Let me know if you have any questions with this!

Hi,
wow, thanks for the fast response. I appreciate that.
I was told the host had done this, but apparently not. That’s clear. So the solution is very simpel.
The phone call was made by a friend – I guess he understood it wrong.
I’d like to make use of your offer to do the refund and choose a host that doesn’t make me pay extra :-)
Thank you very much!
Do I need to do anything extra? And do you know how soon this can be done?
Have a nice day!

Sounds great. I have provided you a full refund and removed the mapping from your account. Please note that it may take up to a week for the refund to show up in your bank account.
Cheers!

STOP! My financial board is okay with the extra yearly costs after all. So please DON’T REFUND, we need the connection to be working a.s.a.p. so we’ll keep it this way, move the domain name and make sure that that host DOES change the DNS.
Thanks again for being so cooperative and I’m very sorry for the inconvenience this discussion might have caused.
Have a nice day!
(Oh, could you please let me know if the connection is still there, that the request for refund hasn’t been done yet?)

HI there,
I’m sorry, but it has already been done. But, you can easily purchase it again by going back to Store > My Domains in your Dashboard.
More information can be found here:

Haha… okay tnx. Funny: our former host is way too slow and you and me acted too fast :-)
LOL
I’ll make sure the connection is bought again.
Thanks. I’ll close this thread.
