Domain name problem.

I paid for and registered the domain name – squiggletbuglet.com — but it shows as .wordpress? — people are trying to find it and get an error page. I paid the $99.

It looks like you purchased the Premium bundle for squiggletbuglet.wordpress.com. However, it doesn’t look like you’ve registered the domain squiggletbuglet.com. Can you do that following the instructions here?
You shouldn’t need to pay anything extra as a domain is included with your Premium bundle!

As for how many domains you can register, only one domain comes free with the Premium bundle. However, you’re free to add as many domains as you would like to your account. You would just need to add the new domains following the instructions here:
Please note, only one domain can be the primary domain on your account meaning all of the domains would redirect to a single, primary domain. Let me know if you need anything else!

Hi… thanks… New Question… regarding registering a new domain name to go with my blog. Basically just want to register themusicalforest.net… to attach to the blog. Not sure what the two different type of registration mean… i.e. mapping or not… $13 vs. $5. Also… the domain name — themusicalforest.com says it is taken… however there is no there there… it says it is ‘parked’… ? not being used… what is this exactly? Thanks.

In order for your new domain themusicalforest.net to work correctly, you’ll need to purchase both the mapping and the registration (both the $13 and the $5). If you purchase the domain following the instructions here, both should be added to your cart:

Domain parking is a business wherein someone will purchase a domain and either A) leave it so they can use it later or B) try to sell it to someone else for a higher price. The domain might be for sale, in which case you could use the “Would you like to buy this domain?” link from the parked page to learn more. Please note, if you end up attempting to purchase the domain, please use a reputable source (i.e. it wouldn’t happen through WordPress.com). It’s a bit like buying a used car; you want to use a reputable seller. Does that help to clarify?

This means that the user registered the domain through GoDaddy.com and then “parked” it, which means they just left it dormant. It doesn’t cost anything extra to park a domain. However, it is registered by someone else, likely in an attempt to sell it if someone wanted it.
