Domain Name Problems

I filled out all the relevant information to register a domain name (incl. Visa and personal info) but for some reason I have not been given my requested domain name. Instead, I have a .wordpress.com title. What went wrong?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Did you complete the setup properly and has 72 hours expired yet?

In order to map to a domain one must have an underlying .wordpress.com subdomain blog to map from and the domain name you desire must be available for purchase, or you must already own the domain URL.

As you have registered a .wordpress.com blog you log in as Admin under the exact same username account that registered the blog and purchase a domain name by purchasing an annually renewable domain mapping upgrade for the blog. Dashboard > Store > My Upgrades

See here if you do not own a domain http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/

See here if you already own a domain http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/

Dashboard > Store > My Upgrades is where you do the primary blog set up knowing it can take between 24 – 72 hours for domain name propagation to take place throughout the internet. You can view the DNS changes here > http://www.whatsmydns.net/ What’s important during that stage is to be patient.

darrensavage.com – does not seem to have been registered nor domain mapped

    What do you see at

Dashboard >> Store >> My Upgrades?
Dashboard >> Store >> Billing History?

As noted above you must map a custom domain name to an existing blog name here ( i.e. darrensavage.wordpress.com. )

If you see nothing purchased in the store then use the instructions @TT gave above to register & map a domain name

Wow, thank you for all your help. It looks like nothing was registered, and there are no pending transactions on my credit card. I have no idea what I filled out my information for then. It seemed pretty straightforward, and nothing out of the ordinary popped out to me. Strange that there would even be an option to fill in credit card info if I had chosen a free blog.

I have no billing history or any upgrades.

I’ll re-register in the next day or two, after giving sufficient time to ensure all is well (its been just under 72 hours).
