  I want to work on a website template before I use my domain that I own, but I don’t see how I can get past the section that asks for my domain name.

  Hi there!

  For that, you’ll want to make sure you’re choosing a free subdomain – look for one with .wordpress.com in the address (you can type it directly in the search box) and skip the purchase :)
