Domain Name question

  I have our domain name reroute to the website we made through MailerLite right now. If I purchase a WordPress account and have it use my domain name, will it mess up what I use right now? Or will the WordPress site not utilize that domain name until we go live with the site. I just don’t want our current site to be messed up if I start working on a new one through this site.

  Hi there, you can definitely set up your site here before switching your domain over.

  When you sign up for a new site, we give you a free subdomain (like example.wordpress.com) that you can build your site under.

  You will need a Pro plan to set a domain as your site’s primary address https://wordpress.com/pricing/ and when you’re ready to launch your site under your custom domain, just follow the steps at https://wordpress.com/support/domains/#set-a-primary-address
