Domain name redirection plan and theme usability

    Hi,

    I have the following questions:

    1. I currently have the FREE subscription and, hence, using website name having wordpress.com. I plan to buy the personal subscription for $3/mo. Do I get to remove wordpress.com from my website name with this plan? I have purchased my domain name separately and I want to use only that domain name for my website.

    2. I am using a free theme called ‘Snaps’. On it’s homepage preview, it shows several images in square blocks, however, when I activate that theme it shows me blog posts one after the other in vertical (scroll down) direction. I want to have a similar look like the one showed in it’s preview.

    Please help with the above.

    Yes.

    You can map it to your WordPress.com site once you purchase any plan.

    I want to have a similar look like the one showed in it’s preview.

    By default, the homepage will display your latest posts in a traditional blog format. To get the most out of this theme, you first need to create some portfolio projects. Then, to display those projects on the homepage (as shown in the theme demo), follow these steps:

    Create a new page to serve as the homepage
    Assign the Portfolio Page Template from the Page Options section
    Publish your page
    Go to Customizer→ Static Front Page, and choose the new page as your site’s static “Front page”
    The Snaps theme will now display your Portfolio projects on the homepage.

    Hi @tony733t

    I am currently using ‘Snaps’ theme. I want to do either of the following two things:

    1. Reduce the height of Header image so my horizontal menu bar is visible at first visual without scrolling down.
    2. Move my Header menu bar above the Header Image.

    Please let me know if any one of these is possible?

    Hi again @saurabhnavya, it looks like you’ve got a few tickets open. You have one about the domain and another about the header already, and we’re working with you in both of them, plus this one that mentions both issues.

    It’s best to enter one issue per thread, and one thread per issue wherever possible, so we avoid getting wires crossed. So I’ll go ahead and close this one out. Cheers :)
