Domain name renewal
-
You took renewal payment a month early and I have just had to waste a few hours cancelling the renewal and requesting a refund. However, you now tell me that I’ve cancelled my domain altogether, which isn’t right. All I want is a refund of the auto renewal. My subscription isn’t due for renewal until 19th April and I have not yet decided whether to keep the domain or not.

Hi @jonnywealth5, it sounds like you intended to ask for a refund and renew later, but managed to cancel instead.
At this point it’s fairly simple to fix the plan; I was able to bring that back so that you can pay at any time in the next month. The domain is a bit trickier.
We send out a few reminders of impending auto-renewal, allowing you to cancel the renewal, change card info, etc. Renewing at 11 months gives everyone a little wiggle room so your site won’t go down and we can make what changes are needed. I’m gathering you didn’t notice those.
The domain had already been renewed, so at this point, there’s no option to decide later: you’ll need to decide ASAP whether to renew or cancel. I have sent a manual payment request for that fee; if you’d prefer to cancel, let us know in the next day or so. Otherwise, the domain can go into redemption soon after it’s removed from your account, so we’ll want to act quickly.

Hi – thanks for your reply.
I’ve been back and checked all of my emails and there was only 1 reminder on 18th February which got lost amongst 30 other emails you’ve sent me trying to sell/promote things. I don’t think that’s good enough.
I’ve thought about it and would prefer to cancel everything. Please ensure the refund is processed by return.
Thanks for your help. -
@jonnywealth5, your refund was already processed when you canceled. I’ll remove the invoice. Best.
