Domain name renewal

  Hello,

  In the space of 2 days- not long enough to react or stop it- WordPress has taken money from me for a domain name renewal. It is poor that this is set as automatic with no prior warning. I moved my domain name over to weebly many months ago and pay them for the site. Surely this means I should not still be paying wordpress when I have absolutely nothing to do with you, I just made the mistake of signing up to the wrong site to begin with. I would like my payment to be cancelled or given a valid reason why I should be paying you.

  I’d be happy to cancel rottencoredesign.com and refund the associated charge.

  Before I proceed, there are a few points I need to cover.

  If we cancel your domain, it can take up to several weeks for our domain registrar to release the domain, and we can’t guarantee that your domain will be available to you again, once canceled.

  If you want to keep using your domain, but you don’t want to use WordPress.com anymore, you don’t have to cancel it. Instead, you can move the domain to another site, using the Domain Administration tool under Store > Domains, at the bottom of the page.

  I do want to keep using my domain and as far as I’m aware, I moved it to another site almost a year ago and am paying them which is why I don’t understand why wordpress has decided to charge me again. I am using my domain, I want to continue using it, with the other site it is now with and being paid for to them.

  The domain rottencoredesign.com is registered with WordPress.com, although you are pointing it to a site hosted elsewhere.

  If you need to maintain control of this domain, you will need to renew its registration every year, regardless of where it is registered.
