  My Domain has expired, so my website address has changed from http://www.EquiCells.com to http://www.EquiCells.wordpress.com. Can just buying the domain name at Rs 1422 would solve the issue ? or do I need to buy some other plan like WordPress Starter, costing Rs 4560 ?

  While you can purchase a domain without a plan, to have your domain be your primary domain, you need a paid plan. Otherwise, your domain will redirect to your free *.wordpress.com URL.
