domain name renewal help!

My colleagues and I are trying to renew the domain name for our blog that expired 3 days ago. We have renewed the name for the past few years for an annual charge of $26, yet now WordPress only gives us the option to upgrade for $99. Does WordPress not offer the $26 option anymore? We are also having an issue concerning who on our team has the authority to renew the domain name; WordPress tells us that it can only be renewed through the original account that first purchased it. That person is no longer a part of our team. Is there a way to transfer this authority to another administrator of the blog? Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Yes, you can transfer the domain over to another WordPress.com account. It has to be transferred (and renewed) from the account that originally registered it. Are you able to get in touch with the co-worker who originally registered the domain?
The reason you are not seeing the option to renew for f$26 is because you aren’t in the correct account.
