domain name renewal issue

    Had to renew my domain name which was purchased through go daddy. Now how do we get it running through wordpress – in my notification in wordpress is the warning that my domain expired aug 9th. No other info.

    Hi there,

    I would be happy to assist you in renewing your subscription. However, the upgrade that was purchased is not associated with the account you contacted us from. Until recently, you were able to renew an upgrade that was under your account, but now only the owner of the upgrade can. To confirm ownership, post in this thread under the username/account that purchased the upgrade. Then, I can look into renewing the subscription upgrade. However, you should be able to renew the domain if logged into the account that owns the upgrade.

    Thanks – My domain is johnhshea.com and is valid – I have no way of renewing within wordpress – somehow we missed the email that was said to go out to renew the mapping. I cannot even find a way to purchase the renewal in the window where it is stated that I can. What info is required?

    What info is required?

    You’ll need to log into the account that owns the upgrade in order to renew it. Do you happen to know the user whose account the upgrade is under?

    Yes it would be me – I have access to the account. I just don’t see any renew process in any of the windows –

    johnhshea.com is actually not under the account you are contacting us from, johnshea289. It is under a different account that you’ll need to log into in order to renew the mapping subscription.

    You’ll first need to log out of your johnshea289 account.

    To log out of your WordPress.com account, click on your Gravatar in the upper right. Then, on the left under your Gravatar click on Sign Out. If you’re in your blog dashboard, hover over your Gravatar on the gray toolbar at the top right and click on Sign Out.

    Then, you’ll be able to log into the correct account. Let me know if you have any trouble. Thanks!

    Ok was logged into johnshea289. Can access Domains where there the window “already own a domain” at 13 a year to map – put in my domain and Sorry but johnhshea.com is already mapped to a WordPress.com blog. –

    Do you happen to have access to the lemontage account? It is under that account, not the johnshea289 account.

    So, lemontage is your account as well? Or was there a user other than yourself formally an admin. Because I have both johnshea289 and lemontage as admins on the account, but lemontage is the owner of the site. I see that your admin email is on file, however.

    Let me know if you can log into the lemontage account and we can go from there.

    Lemomtage was the guy who set my site up 8 or so years ago – his name was robin

    Ah…do you happen to have his contact info? All I need is for Robin to post in this thread saying that he is okay with me transferring the domain mapping upgrade to your account – then, I’d be happy to do so.

    If you are no longer in touch with him, let me know, and we’ll figure something out.

    Hi John,

    I haven’t used that account since I made you admin on that site years ago. I tried to reset my WordPress password for that account but it’s sending the reset link to an email address that was associated with an email service integrated with a domain that I don’t own anymore. It might be possible to re-purchase that domain then setup an email service on it again so that I can get the password reset message but you might want to see what other options Darnell has first.
