Domain name renewal problem

  • Unknown's avatar

A couple of years ago I bought the domain name for my site preraphalitewoman.com, so the wordpress element could be removed. Once this expired, I thought my site worked with the wordpress back in the name, ie. preraphalitewoman.wordpress.com – but it is now disabled. How can I fix this please?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there,

I can open and browse your blog just fine; is there any specific problem you’re facing when opening it? Try from a different browser or ISP, perhaps?

The other domain, without the .wordpress.com part, is also available and can be registered if you wish.

    Hi Ehtis,
Thanks very much for looking at this for me.
Hmm.. I still get the black screen over my page every time I open it. Is there a way to stop that? It even means I can’t view the site when I’m logged in to WordPress to make edits. I don’t really want to re-register the other domain.
Trouble is, I’ve been logged in to WordPress on all the devices I have access to, so different browsers etc don’t help.
    Any further advice greatly appreciated!

  • Oh, I’m so sorry! I can now see the expired domain overlay, it didn’t load when I opened your blog earlier, the site wasn’t 100% loaded most probably.

I’ve added modlook tag to this thread, which is for staff attention and they can remove the expired domain from your account. Please wait for their reply.

    Hi there,

That expired domain name was still linked to your site — I removed that for you, so you can now view your site at its free address without seeing that black screen: https://preraphalitewoman.wordpress.com/

Please let me know if I can do anything more to help with that!
