Domain Name Servers Not Updating

    Hello,

    The domain setting says that the domain uses wordpress.com name servers, but in the list of domains, there is a button that still tells me to point the domain to wordpress.com. On the domain, it just shows a 404 error. The site is linked to the domain, and I have tried disconnecting it and reconnecting it. I’ve also tried waiting the 72 hours for it to update. Any help or advice is appreciated.

    Hi, where are you hosting your website?

    If it’s here on WordPress.com, you would need to set your custom domain as primary in the domains dashboard. You do need at least the Personal/Starter plan to do this https://wordpress.com/support/domains/set-a-primary-address/

    If you want to point your domain to a different web hosting provider, you need to add their name servers in your domain dashboard. https://wordpress.com/support/domains/change-name-servers/#changing-name-servers-to-point-away-from-word-press-com If you are not sure of your provider’s nameservers, you will want to ask them first.

    Any change to nameservers will again take up to 72 hours and you may need to hard refresh your browser to see the change.

    Hi there!

    It appears your domain still has a custom IP address that points the domain away from WordPress.com. That’s why the domain doesn’t load your WordPress.com site yet. I assume you want to use the domain with your WordPress.com site, so I just pointed the domain to WordPress.com IP addresses.

    Please wait a few hours (up to 72 hours), and the domain will start loading your WordPress.com site soon.

    It seems the domain settings are using WordPress.com name servers, yet the domain leads to a 404 error. Despite unlinking and waiting, the issue persists. Contacting WordPress support for a thorough domain configuration check would be beneficial.

    Can also confirm that simplyds.com is now pointed to WordPress.com properly and I am able to reach the site. @us417907 visit the site in incognito mode and see if you can view it. Maybe the domain hasn’t propagated from where you are, but it’s working properly on my end.
