Domain name transfer

  Hi,
  I own a domain name which currently refers to a website hosted on a webhosting company.
  Now I created a wordpress blog and i want to use this domain name for wordpress blog and i also i want to update the DNS of the webhosting servers to not to point to my domain name.

  Can any one please let me know how can i best do this?
