Domain name transfer

  I just paid for a domain name at GoDaddy. If I transfer it to WordPress, do I lose my year of registration with them?

  If you just purchased the domain you can’t transfer it here (or anywhere else for that matter) until you’ve owned it for 60 days. With a paid plan you could map it to a WordPress.com site immediately though:

  Hi there,

  When you transfer a domain you don’t lose any time you’ve already paid for on the domain. In fact, as part of a domain transfer a domain is always also renewed for an additional year, so if your domain currently expires in March 2021, it will expire in March 2022 after the transfer.
