domain name transfer

Hi @xarabbott, when you add a plan, the first year is free and is added when you transfer. After that, it depends on the domain. Most .com domains are $18/year including privacy. You can see full pricing here:
Does that help? If not, send more details and we’ll go from there.

I don’t like having my emails to staff open as a forum. I would like private correspondence to my email address. Then I can easily refer back to them.
I have two domains that are coming due for renewal in November and am considering transfering them to you.Are you saying I would pay nothing the first year and $18 next year?

We offer email and live chat support for our customers with paid plans: https://wordpress.com/pricing/
Using custom domains here requires a paid plan, and each paid plan includes a free domain registration, transfer, or mapping.
So, if you have a paid plan, you wouldn’t need to pay for one of those.
Or, if you’re transferring the two domains over for two separate site, you’d have two paid plans and wouldn’t need to pay for either of them.

I would do two paid plans for $4 each.
How would I arrange that? The domains expire on 4 Nov. one is .com and one .org
Wait, let me ask, do these sites come with email accounts? -
If you wish to purchase an upgrade plan for your site, one domain transfer will be included free with the plan, and you can pay a little extra (~$18 US) to move over the second one as well. You can pick an upgrade and set up your site by clicking on the “sign up” button at the bottom of this page… there is one for each plan so click the one for the plan you want and follow the steps onscreen: https://wordpress.com/pricing/
do these sites come with email accounts?
We do not have email management tools built into WordPress, as in there is no “inbox” interface you can access in your WordPress.com admin area.
But you can get a custom domain email by choosing one of the services here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/add-email/
