domain name transfer

  I am looking to obtain a domain name and use it on my blog. the blog is meetmebytheriver.net – and the one I need is meetmebytheirver.com — It seems to be registered. I have looked up the person and am attempting to contact them. They don;t seem to be using it. Also – the info says the domain registration expires 2014 11.05… yet is still not available?

  If I am able to acquire it from them – how do I then have it transfered?

  Domain expiration is a rather long process. So it could be some time before an expired domain is available for registration again.

  You can point a domain registered elsewhere to your WordPress.com account with these instructions:

  I don’t own the domain – but it doesn’t lead anywhere… it says there is a registrant… can I map it?

  If you don’t own the domain, then you cannot map it. You won’t be able to set the nameservers to point to WordPress.com.
