domain name transfer

  Hi
  I have a domain name with HostGator that I’d like to move somewhere (it expires in a week) until I have the content to assign it to a website.
  Can I do this to WordPress and if so how do I do it?
  Or do I have to choose a hosting company first?

  Hello SJ.

  Currently we can’t accept incoming transfers of Domain names. You may want to just renew the domain at HostGator and than you could map the domain to your site at WordPress.com or at another host.
