Domain Name Transfer
-
I recently moved my site to Siteground and the content successfully migrated over. After ensuring all was well at SG, and in confirmation with Tech Support here at WP dot com, I canceled my account. Then in further conversation with .com Tech, I decided to transfer my domain over completely to SG but when attempting to follow through with the steps in the instructions, I no longer have access to my domain to initiate the process. Tech Support said they would do that. I have been waiting since Wednesday around 5 pm or so, making it 72 hours now and my wp-admin page is still down and no one from Tech Support is responding to me, except for community expert, Darcie, just a few minutes ago who recommended I open a thread here. She’s been great.
What I need to know is, did someone start the process on my behalf since I do not have access to my own domain? If not, how am I going to do this if no one is talking with me? I really need this resolved. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Howdy!
I’ve restored gogathergrow.com to your WordPress.com user account. When this domain was cancelled it is sent in to a holding period in which it’s not actually available to be transferred or registered for up to a year.
Now that the domain is restored you can transfer it over to Site Ground.
These are the instructions to walk you through that process: https://en.support.wordpress.com/transfer-domain-registration/
Come back to me with any follow up questions, I’ll be happy to help! Best wishes :)

Good morning, Liz! You have made my day!
I have begun the process and already stuck. The transfer code has not been received though I have clicked the “resend code” button a few times. There is no email in either my inbox or my junk mail. How long will it take to get the email with the transfer code? -

There can be a slight delay with the code. I’m happy to hear you’ve been able to proceed. Let me know if you run in to any other trouble.

I wanted to thank you very much Liz for your help. My site was down for four days and no one from tech support would respond to my tickets. Darcie, community expert, responded and pointed me to this forum, so I have thanks for her as well.
The Error 500 code I was getting for 4 days was not due to the domain transfer but due to the IP address that was still wp.com. It took four hours yesterday to resolve this as that error code had returned after the domain transfer was complete.
Right now, everything is fine and I’m finally able to continue blogging. It’s been one week today since this process started and it’s been a long week.
So, once again, Liz, thank you so very much for your help. And thank you Darcie, as well.
You may close this ticket now.
Blessings
