Domain Name Transferrable???
-
My client purchase a domain name from Blue Host, but she wants her site hosted by WordPress. What do I have to do to get her domain transferred over? Is it just a matter of mapping it and her paying the annual $13 fee?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

She needs to set up Domain Mapping.
However, domains are no longer available for purchase or mapping individually. They are included with WordPress.com Premium. This change has been made as we work to offer the best combination of value and performance for users while still offering a completely free product for those who do not wish to purchase any upgrades.
A great way to go if you are not interested in WordPress.com Premium is to look into setting up a self-hosted WordPress.org site through a hosting provider such as Bluehost, GoDaddy, or Pressable.

She just upgraded to WordPress.com Premium last week. She purchased a domain name from Blue Host a year ago and wants to use that again. I understand I can change the DNS settings from Blue Host to WordPress, but is there a way to transfer the domain over to WordPress permanently?

Also, I could of had this resolved with all my questions over the phone in one conversation. Is there any reason why WordPress doesn’t offer technical support over the phone? This is time consuming.

While we register new domains here at WordPress.com, we’re not able to accept incoming transfers of existing domain names.
So setting up Domain Mapping is the only option, I am afraid.

WordPress.com does not have phone support. But if your account has a purchased upgrade associated with it, you can find livechat support here:
