Domain Name Transfer/Select New Domain Name

  I recently created a new blog and paid for a domain name for my new small business. However, a few days after selecting a name for the business – and registering the blog and paying for a domain name – I found a competitor with the same name in the area. So, I need to change my business name. Since I haven’t begun to setup my blog and I recently purchased the domain name, is it possible to cancel that domain name registration and create a new blog/domain name and apply the 2 year subscription, what is remaining, to that new blog/domain name? Or am I stuck with the domain name of my competitor for the next 2 years?
