Domain name unavailable

I created a new domain name, but accidentally made it under a personal account. I made the mistake of deleting the site associated with the new domain name. My first problem is trying to create a new account as it keeps logging me into my personal account. Second, after trying to register with another email address (new site is for a university club), the domain names that I previously deleted are no longer available. Is there anyway I can get these domain names available again. Even when registering with a new email address they don’t seem to be available.

Deleted blog URLs are not recycled, regardless of who registered and deleted them and the only exceptions are made are for URLs that were deleted 2 or more years ago. http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/
You can register another .wordpress.com blog http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/
Then if you wish to you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade because it does not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is when you are domain mapping.
