Domain name use

I have a domain name registered with 1and1. I’d like to use that domain on WordPress. Here’s where it gets tricky though. My account with 1and1 is closed down, but the domain name is still under my name somehow. 1and1 gave me an authorization code to unlock the domain name that they said could/would be used on WordPress. So far, as I’m attempting to set up a premium account with you guys, the only response I get on the custom domain name set-up page is ‘Sorry, there was a problem processing your request. Please try again in a few minutes.’ There is also no option to enter an authorization code such as 1and1 gave me. I’d love some feedback and help. Thanks!

What is the domain?
It is not possible to transfer domains to WordPress.com. You can only map them here. To the transfer code 1and1 gave you cannot be used here.
If you want to transfer your domain away from them you’ll need to transfer it to a different registrar that accepts incoming domain transfers, and then you can connect it here using domain mapping.
