With the domain name i have registered with wordpress, to activate the free email acct with google, do I need to have the domain hosted?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

It seems to me you DO have it hosted: at WordPress.com. Just to be sure: what is the actual URL?

See here please > Setting Up Email with Google Apps
Please link your WordPress.com blog to your username. Dashboard -> Users -> Personal Settings -> then scroll down to Account Details. Then scroll down to where it says ‘Website‘ select the URL for your primary wordpress.com blog and then save changes.

Ok, my problem is Ive been trying to verify my domain with google for 2 days now, going round in circles, trying all sorts and failing.
I can’t get TXT method to work, nor can i work out, or really understand how to upload a file to domain host, . . . which had me wondering do i even have a host yet?
I’ve followed all the prompts and charts, but doing something wrong.
Google tells me its in the process of verification but I’m stuck there. -
I have located a simialr thread here > https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/google-apps-changed-procedure-cannot-set-up-email-for-mapped-domain?replies=28 Note the workaround macmanx (Staff) provided here > https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/google-apps-changed-procedure-cannot-set-up-email-for-mapped-domain?replies=28#post-803746

still trying ( after giving up for an hour)
Try to put DNS codes in, but wordpress doesn’t recognize any of the files that i generate.I know they should like something like
MX 1 ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM.
MX 5 ALT1.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM.
MX 5 ALT2.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM.
MX 10 ASPMX2.GOOGLEMAIL.COM.When i go to store / domain / edit DNS, if i click the link My verification code, it sends me back to google, the box next to that is empty.
So any help on how i find that DNS code?
Thanks Dave

From Google Apps. You should try to follow the advice macmanx gave on the thread timethief quoted… very carefully.
If you go to https://www.google.com/a/cpanel/worthdoing.me/VerifyOwnership?domain=worthdoing.me do you see the CNAME option?
(URL modified by me)
