  I’m confused about adding a domain name. I already have one reserved elsewhere that I want to add to my wordpress site. The problem is that in one point it said $13.00/year on the ‘free plan,’ but when I try to set it up, it adds the premium plan in, too (for a total charge of $99/year). Am I missing something somewhere?

  New accounts are required to have a plan upgrade for domain mapping. You can use WordPress.com Personal Plan’s domain credit for mapping as you’ve described. This plan is $35.88/year and comes with other features as well.

  The plan can be added to your account from My Sites > Plans or from https://wordpress.com/pricing/
