  Hello, I’ve purchased a domain name and hosting package through host gator and it is now asking me to purchase or map the domain and am unsure of which option to choose as I’m new to website building. Which is the best option ?

  Then perhaps you should head back to Hostgator. This is WordPress.com which is a different place to Hostgator entirely. You only need to purchase something here if you want a site here rather than there.
