  What is the difference in forwarding and masking a domain name to wordpress.com site to mapping?

  I’m sure exactly what you’re asking about here. Essentially, there are two ways to use a domain name with WordPress.com:

  1) Mapping an existing domain that you already own but is registered elsewhere.

  2) Purchasing a brand new domain here on WordPress.com.
